WATCH OUT! First Alert forecast shows dense fog across the Heartland

It is Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2015.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

You might need some extra time on your morning commute since fog is the big story this morning. Much of the Heartland is under a fog advisory. Still, the foggy morning will open up to a warm November day with highs in the 70s.

Making Headlines:

Governor to be: The polls in Kentucky open at 6 a.m. this morning. The big question: Will Republican Matt Bevin, Democrat Jack Conway or independent Drew Curtis get the vote for governor?

The vote: Voters in several southeast Missouri will cast their ballot on everything from smoking bans to tax issues. One of the big ones:  a half-cent sales tax increase in Sikeston.

Open at a cost: The Juvenile Detention Center in Franklin County, Ill. will stay open at least for now. But the program is slated to receive $500,000 less than it did this year.

What's trending:

Not something you see everyday: Have you ever seen a deer cross the river? It's not a joke. A viewer caught it all on camera. You have to see it to believe it.
