BENTON, IL (KFVS) -

The Franklin County Board of Illinois has released their proposed budget for the 2016 fiscal year.

Heartland News first told you in early October about concerns that the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center could face shuttering next year because of state and county funding concerns.

The Franklin County Treasurer John Gulley has released an 185 page proposed budget for Franklin County in 2016.

The proposal includes 15 pages and $1,876,077 of requested funding for the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center next year. The current proposal would cut nearly half a million dollars from the detention center's budget from 2015 and would not fund the juvenile meth treatment program.

That can be viewed on pages 124-138 However, Franklin County Board Chairman Randall Crocker said that budget talks will continue.

“It still could change,” Crocker said.

The Franklin County Board meets from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on November 2.

Crocker does not expect any action to be taken at the November 2 meeting. He said the county should vote on a budget on November 17.
