No Shave Movember raises cancer awareness

JACKSON, MO (KFVS) -

Men (and probably some women) across the country are participating in No Shave Movember to raise cancer awareness.

Many cancer patients lose their hair during treatment. During No Shave Movember, participating let their hair grow wild and free and donating the money they typically use on shaving and grooming to educate about cancer prevention.

Officers with the Jackson Police Department will be allowed to grow neatly trimmed beards and goatees during the month of November to show their support for cancer patients.

Officers who participate will donate the money they typically spend on shaving and buy toys for the Annual Jackson Police Toy Drive.
