Young hunters harvest more than 14,000 deer on youth weekend in MO

Young hunters harvested more than 14,000 deer during Missouri's early youth portion of the 2015 deer hunting season.

The Missouri Department of Conservation announced that young hunters ages 6 through 15 checked 14,095 deer on Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Top counties for the early youth portion were:

  • Franklin with 338
  • Osage with 337
  • Howell with 288. 

Last year's harvest total for the early youth portion was 18,091. Get the latest deer harvest totals by county and portion here.

Archery deer hunting continues through Nov. 13 and again from Nov. 25 though Jan. 15, 2016.

The November portion of firearms deer season runs Nov. 14 through 24.

The firearms deer antlerless portion runs Nov. 25 through Dec. 6.

The firearms deer alternative methods portion will run Dec. 19-29 followed by firearms deer late youth portion on Jan. 2-3, 2016.
