Former Heartland basketball players off to good start in NBA

Former Heartland basketball players are off to a good start in the NBA, which kicked off its season on Tuesday, October 27.

Wednesday:

Former Scott County Central star, Otto Porter, now with Washington, finished with 7 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in an 88-87 win against Orlando.

Isaiah Canaan, former Murray State standout-now with Philadelphia, had 18 points and 7 rebounds in a 112-95 loss against Boston.

Friday:

Otto Porter had 6 points, 4 rebounds and 3 assists in a 118-113 win against Milwaukee.

Isaiah Canaan finished with 10 points and 5 rebounds in a 99-71 loss to Utah.

Former Poplar Bluff High School star, Tyler Hansbrough, has yet to play for the Charlotte Hornets.

Hansbrough has proven in the past that he can be a valuable bench player.

One other Heartland player, former Murray State Racer Cameron Payne, has also yet to play with the Oklahoma City Thunder.

This is Payne's rookie year in the NBA.
