4 teens injured in Jackson Co., IL rollover crash

JACKSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Four teens were injured in a rollover crash on Old Route 13 in Jackson County, Illinois at around 7:39 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30.

According to Jackson County sheriff's deputies, the crash just east of Gibb's Lane. They say it was called in by one of the passengers, who said all four in the car were trapped inside and the car was upside down.

Deputies arrived on scene and helped three of the four teens out of the car.

Paramedics arrived and removed the fourth teen, the driver, from the car.

All four teens were taken to area hospitals and the driver was later flown by helicopter to a St. Louis hospital for further treatment.

At this point, deputies say it is not clear what caused the crash.

Deputies say the car was going eastbound on Old Route 13 when the driver veered to the left, causing her car to cross over the westbound lane, leave the road and hit an earthen embankment.

They say the car continued across the driveway where it flipped over onto its top.

The crash remains under investigation.

Jackson County sheriff's deputies were assisted by the Murphysboro Pomona and Somerset Township Fire Department.
