CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - Ameren Missouri says it wants your electrical service to be more dependable in the Cape Girardeau area and it's investing millions of dollars to see it happen.
$80 million, to be exact.
Ameren says construction will begin in Cape the week of November 2.
They will be working on a sub-transmission line that it calls the cornerstone of its plan.
The work will take most of November, set to be completed around the 25, and will connect Ameren substations on the west side of town with one at the intersection of Clark and Dunklin.
The end result, according the energy provider, will be more reliable power.
And a note for commuters, while the work is going on, traffic near Mount Auburn and Percy Drive or Independence will be affected.
