CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

A new Southeast Missouri State University Glee Club sang in their inaugural performance on Thursday afternoon.

They're called Vocal Fire and performed to a Halloween theme at Cup and Cork Coffee House and Cafe in Cape Girardeau.

So far about 15 students participate.

The club's founder, Southeast sophomore Jennifer Parker, says she hopes that number will continue to grow.

"I really wanted to start a club that people could enjoy performing in music that's not like a job,” Parker said. “I want people to have fun in the club and enjoy it and make friendships out of it."

Vocal Fire plans on singing carols this Christmas season and hope to do a Valentine show in February.
