DUNKLIN COUNTY (KFVS) - A teenager was killed and another was seriously injured after a crash on Route B, about 1 mile south of Campbell, Missouri on Wednesday evening, Oct. 28.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Joshua Paxton, 19, was driving a 2001 Yamaha Raptor motorcycle northbound on Route B at about 6:51 p.m. with no rear lights or reflectors.
Courtney Hausmann, 16, was traveling with Paxton at the time.
A 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 18-year-old Jack D. Anderson, of Campbell, hit the motorcycle from behind, throwing both teens from it.
Paxton was airlifted to a Cape Girardeau hospital with serious injuries.
Hausmann was also seriously injured and airlifted to a Memphis, Tenn. hospital. She later died from her injuries.
This marks 49 fatal accidents in the southeast Missouri area for 2015.
