DYERSBURG, TN (KFVS) -

Emergency crews put out a four-alarm fire in downtown Dyersburg, Tenn. Tuesday morning.

Firefighters say the fire started around 7 a.m. in a building on Main Street.

Mayor John Holden is asking residents to avoid the downtown area.

According to employees at Security Bank, the fire started in the building that houses Bill Jordan's law firm and Tim Ball's Watch Repair.

The fire also impacted where a man was living above the businesses. Employees at Security Bank say the man's home is a complete loss.

No one was home in the two apartments upstairs. No one was injured.

The fire was contained to one building. Crews had a city block cordoned off while they fought the fire.

More than 40 firefighters responded to the scene. They were able to contain the fire around 11:30 a.m.

The Dyersburg Fire Department and state fire marshal are investigating.
