Congestion expected after truck takes out traffic signal in Draffenville

MARSHALL COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

Traffic flow is expected to be an issue at the intersection of US 68 and US 641 in Draffenville, Ky. after an early morning truck crash on Tuesday.

According to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, a truck hit one of the traffic signal supports about 3:30 a.m. and took down the entire signal head.

The crash happened at the US 68/US 641 east intersection near King Brothers Market and Marshall County High School.

KYTC reports the crash caused so much damage that it will have to rebuilt from the ground up.

That means the intersection will function as a 3-way stop. KYTC reports the 3-way stop will remain in place while the traffic signal is reconstructed.

In the mean time, drivers are asked to use caution in the area. According to KYTC, the traffic flow changes could cause delays during peak travel periods at the busy intersection.

The Marshall County Sheriff's Department is investigating the crash.
