First Alert: Grab the umbrella and rain jacket for a wet Tuesday

It is Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2015.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

Make sure to gran the jacket and an umbrella as you head out the door. Rain is moving into the Heartland, and it will be here all day. Highs are expected to reach around 60. And while we may dry out tomorrow and Thursday, Brian’s First Alert Forecast shows showers may dampen Halloween on Saturday.

Making Headlines:

Under investigation: A McDonald's is open in Dexter this morning after a transformer apparently blew Monday night. Crews responded to the area after the building filled with smoke.

Behind bars: A man is behind bars for vehicular manslaughter after a deadly crash in Bollinger County. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, two young adults were traveling down County Road 458, when their truck ran off the road, hit a tree and overturned. One of the men was killed in the crash.

Search continues: The Kennett Humane Department is looking for information on the person or persons responsible for leaving a sick puppy in a ditch where people dump their trash. The puppy is in poor condition, but is recovering.

#OptOutdoors: REI, an outdoor gear and sporting goods retailer, is canceling its Black Friday this year. The company has 143 stores, none of which will have any promotions, hourly sales or door busters, until the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
