2 arrested after guns, drugs found in car in Dyersburg


Two Troy, Tenn. men face charges after police found guns and drugs in their car.

Dyersburg Police officers stopped a vehicle for seat belt violations on Countryman Street around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

Officers noticed several guns lying in the seat within plain view.

A department K-9 also alerted to the presence of drugs.

Police found a sizable amount of illegal narcotics, two pistols and two long guns. All the weapons were loaded at the time of the search.

Police found more narcotics on Shirkrisin.

The guns were taken and placed into evidence and the car was seized and placed in department impound.

Brian Kolwyck, 33, of Troy and Avinash Shirkrisin, 37, of Troy are charged with possession of schedule II methamphetamine with intent to sell/deliver, possession of a firearm in commission of a dangerous felony.

Shirkrisin was also charged with tampering with evidence.

Both were due in a Dyersburg City Court on Oct. 26 at 4 p.m.
