KY man arrested for allegedly assaulting woman with object

GRAVES COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A Boaz man was arrested Sunday morning after he allegedly assaulted a woman with a pipe or a hammer.

At around 3 a.m., the Graves County Sheriff’s Office was summoned to an alleged assault, which occurred in the 4200 block of St Rt 303.

Deputies learned that John Delk, 76, of Boaz, had allegedly became upset with Leigh A. Miskit, 39, of Mayfield, and had struck her in the head with either a pipe or a hammer until several friends of Miskit were able to restrain him.

Miskit was taken to Jackson Purchase Medical Center and treated for non life threatening injuries.

Delk was arrested in Mayfield at around 5:24 a.m. and charged with assault in the second degree.
