Blue note notes

ST. LOUIS, MO (KFVS) -

The St. Louis Blues have only played one game this week so far but have many headlines.

First, Vladimir Tarasenko was named the NHL's Third Star on Monday for the week ending October 18.

He recorded points in each of the four games played that week.

The Blues played against the undefeated Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday, losing 3-0.

Canadiens goalie Carey Price, last week's NHL's First Star, stopped all 38 shots to keep them undefeated.

Paul Stastny was placed on injured reserve Wednesday after suffering a broken foot injury October 16 against Vancouver.

He'll be re-evaluated in five weeks.

On Friday, Jaden Schwartz awkwardly slipped on the ice and hit a goal post during practice.

He went to the hospital and an update on the injury is expected Saturday.

Sad news came later on Friday. The first ever Blues player, Jimmy Roberts, passed away.

He was the first round pick by the Blues in the NHL expansion draft in 1967.

Saturday, the Blues (5-2) host the New York Islanders (4-2-1) at 7:00 p.m.
