First Alert: Keep the umbrella handy for Heartland Football Friday

It is Friday, Oct. 23, 2015.

You might want an umbrella as you head out this morning, because rain is moving in to the Heartland. It also won't be as warm as it has been, but still mild with temps in the 70s. For your Heartland Football Friday expect the possibility of rain, and a temps in the 60s. The weekend weather is still uncertain. Brian's First Alert Forecast shows some may see rain all weekend, while others might not see a drop.

Making Headlines:

Deadly shooting: Police are investigating after one person was killed and two others were wounded in an on-campus shooting at Tennessee State University. The shooting was apparently prompted by a dispute over a dice game.

Fiery crash:  A bus and truck collided in France, killing 42 people and injuring five others. The bus was carrying mainly elderly retires when the two vehicles collided and then caught fire.

Recall alert: Do you have a hunter in your life? Let them know more than 17,000 climbing tree stands are being recalled for a fall risk. The brands include Big Game and Global Manufacturing Company.

He's in: Rep. Paul Ryan formally declared his candidacy for speaker of the U.S. House Thursday evening, pledging in a letter to GOP colleagues, "We have an opportunity to turn the page."
