SCOTT COUNTY, MO (KFVS) - An Oran, Missouri man and a Benton, Missouri woman are facing drug charges.
Benjamin Karr, 37, of Oran, and Aschlei N. Goetz, 33, of Benton, were charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to Scott Co. Sheriff Rick Walter, on Wednesday, Oct. 21 deputies responded to 6665 State Highway H, south of Benton, for a narcotics investigation.
Deputies say when they arrived, they found Karr and Goetz in a vehicle. They say Goetz's five-month-old child was in the rear seat of the vehicle.
Goetz owns the vehicle and gave deputies permission to search it.
Inside, deputies found a multi colored makeup bag allegedly containing a scale and metal spoon with a white substance on it. A purple bag was also found and allegedly had a syringe with a liquid inside of it.
Deputies say Karr allegedly had a syringe and plastic baggy, with a white crystal-like substance in it, on him.
All of the items allegedly field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Karr and Goetz were arrested and taken to the Scott County Jail.
Karr's bond was set at $2,500 cash only and Goetz's bond was set at $1,000 cash only.
