Even warmer today - First Alert: rain is on its way

It is Thursday, Oct. 22, 2015.

Be prepared for the hottest day this week. The Heartland will wake up to a very mild morning, and a warm fall day with highs in the low 80s. BUT this is the last day of warm weather for awhile. Temperatures will start to drop tomorrow, with some possible rain moving in for Heartland Football Friday.

Making headlines:

Dangerous conditions: Due to extremely dry and windy conditions, several burn bans have been issued for parts of the Heartland. Fire chiefs across the area say the lack of rain creates the perfect storm for brush fires to spread quickly.

Sad ending: The Iron County sheriff says the body of a missing 77-year-old man has been found. Cecil Hedrick went disappeared more than 4 weeks ago. His death appears to be accidental.

Behind bars: A Perryville, Missouri woman accused of attempting to kidnap three teenage girls in Ste. Genevieve County, is in more trouble this morning. Cynthia Lou Wofford is now facing a total of five counts of attempted kidnapping and one third degree assault charge.

What's trending:

It's coming: An unexpected asteroid is headed towards Earth! It'll make an official appearance on Halloween. It's expected to fly closer to  Earth than any others since 2006.
