Forest Service begins burn season at Shawnee National Forest

ILLINOIS (KFVS) -

The United States Forest Service is beginning its prescribed burn season from October to April.

These fires will take place in the Shawnee National Forest and approximately 5,000 to 8,000 acres will be have controlled burns in a continuing effort to help sustain and maintain the Shawnee National Forest.
