ALEXANDER COUNTY, IL (KFVS) - The Horseshoe Lake Fire Protection District fire chief has issued a burn ban for the district due to lack of rain and low humidity.
This ban is to start immediately for the district in Alexander County.
Fire Chief Michael Honey says they have had an uptick in fires lately that have gotten out of control.
Honey says a lot of people are cleaning up their yards and leaves and may be tempted to burn yard debris.
However, the burn ban is needed for the safety of everyone.
