CARTERVILLE, IL (KFVS) -

The statistics are alarming. Every day 22 American veterans take their own life and over 600,000 veterans suffer from a very real and terrifying condition.

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder or as it is more commonly known, PTSD, is a very real condition that can leave many people suffering in silence.

Several local agencies in southern Illinois are banding together to bring experts and professionals together in an all-day conference called the “22 Know More PTSD Education and Awareness Conference" to be held at John A. Logan College in Saturday Nov. 7 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The event will feature presentations, discussion panels, breakout sessions, and a vendor fair all designed to provide sufferers, their families and the general public information about this traumatic condition.

The first 200 people to register for the conference will not be charged thanks to a local benefactor.

After the initial 200, registration will be $18. It will cover all activities and participants will be provided a luncheon with a vegetarian option available.

The deadline to register is Nov. 1 and signing up is easy.  Just visit click here to register and to get more information.
