Kentucky man sentenced to prison on weapons charges

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Christian County, Kentucky man is sentenced to 8 years in prison without the possibility of parole for the illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Jamie Artez Harris, 38, pleaded guilty to being a convicted felon knowingly possessing a .38 caliber handgun and three rounds of ammo.

Harris had previously been convicted of manslaughter, drug possession and trafficking as well as fleeing and evading police.

"We will continue to prosecute dangerous felons who illegally possess firearms to ensure the safety of our communities," U.S. Attorney John Kuhn said.
