MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) - A man was injured on Sunday after he apparently swerved off a McCracken Co. road to avoid a dog, flipping his car over in the process.
Deputies were dispatched to Mayfield-Metropolis Road near Blandville Road at 10:34 p.m. on a report of a vehicle on its side in a ditch.
Deputies found a black 2002 Honda Civic in the ditch with extensive damage.
Deputies were unable to find anyone in or around the car.
Investigation showed that the vehicle had been traveling towards Blandville Road when for an unknown reason, dipped off the right side of the roadway before over correcting back onto the road.
As a result of the over correction, the car traveled back across the highway and into the ditch.
Information obtained from the scene led deputies to believe that Clayton Ali, 21, was the operator of the vehicle.
Deputies checked with area hospitals and located Ali at an area emergency room.
Family members had apparently picked Ali up from the scene and driven him to the emergency room for what appeared to be minor cuts and bruises.
Ali said that he had swerved to miss a dog, causing him to run off the roadway.
Deputies were assisted on scene by Concord Fire, Mercy Regional EMS, and Paducah Ford.
