CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) - The Southeast Missouri State University football team will host 14th ranked Eastern Kentucky on Saturday for Homecoming, but the team had a surprise on Friday at practice.
The U.S. Army Golden Knights parachuted into practice as a surprise for the team.
Coach Tuke and his staff arranged this months in advance as a way to motivate the team for its game against Eastern Kentucky.
Senior wide receiver Paul McRoberts said it provided a lot of inspiration for his game on Saturday.
"Big motivation, most teams aren't like this," McRoberts said with a laugh. "And it's crazy how coach Tuke and his staff put things together at Southeast Missouri. Most teams would be focused on the game instead of having fun or bringing in airplanes, but we find time for the important things."
The Golden Knights also gifted the team with footballs, mini bricks and Coach Tuke was given a baton flown in specially for him and a picture as well.
