CHAFFEE, MO (KFVS) -

A Chaffee, Missouri couple and another man have been arrested in connection with a drug investigation.

Jessica Sagers, 30, was charged with possession of a forging instrument, possession of a controlled instrument and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Jason Weaver, 40, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

According to Sheriff Rick Walter, on Wednesday, Oct. 14, detectives were conducting an undercover operation outside of Chaffee.

He said an undercover deputy went to a location to meet with Anthony Sagers and Weaver about selling them prescription pills. He said Sagers drove up, and Sagers and Weaver got out and allegedly talked about the price they wanted to pay for the pills.

Sagers and Weaver then allegedly bought the pills from the undercover deputy. They were then arrested.

Deputies say they found a glass pipe in Sagers' vehicle, which tested positive for methamphetamine.

They then went to Sagers' home on County Highway 209 and got permission to search it.

According to Sheriff Walter, Jessica Sagers was inside the home. He said deputies found a cut straw, mirror and a set of scales in the bed she had been lying in.

The three were taken to the Scott County Jail and booked.

On Thursday, Oct. 15 detectives interviewed Jessica Sagers about allegedly making and having counterfeit money, along with equipment to make the counterfeit money.

Sheriff Walter said she gave permission for detectives to look through her cell phone.

Detectives say they found a photograph on the phone of four $20 bills that all had the same serial number. They say they found another photograph with more $20 bills with the same serial number as the prior photograph.

Sagers told detectives that she was not making any counterfeit money, but a "friend" had been coming over and making the money. Sagers allegedly admitted to getting some of the counterfeit money and using it in Chaffee.

Detectives say they found a printer and paper used to make the counterfeit money on the Sagers' property.

Sheriff Walter has alerted the public to counterfeit money being passed around in the area. You can click here for the details.
