Second earthquake rattles southeast Missouri

2 earthquakes shake southeast Missouri

DONIPHAN, MO (KFVS) - Two earthquake shook southeast Missouri Friday afternoon.

A 3.4 magnitude earthquake shook the Heartland near Doniphan.

It happened at 3:26 p.m.

It was centered about 11 miles north, northwest of Doniphan and 29 miles west of Poplar Bluff.

People in Doniphan, Ellsinore, Piedmont, Poplar Bluff, Patterson, and Corning, Ark. report feeling the quake.

One person in Doniphan says some cups rattled off the table.

Just 24 minutes later, another quake shook the area again. A 3.2 magnitude hit about eight miles north of Doniphan at 3:50 p.m.

People in Doniphan, Patterson, west of Bernie, Poplar Bluff, Essex, and just west of Fredericktown report feeling the second quake.

No reports yet of any damage.
