Crews battle house fire in Herrin

HERRIN, IL (KFVS) -

A home caught fire in Herrin, Ill. early Friday morning.

According to the Herrin Fire Department, crews were dispatched to a home at 905 West Stotlar Street around 3:30 a.m.

Captain Miller with the Herrin fire Department reports no one was injured.

The homeowners just started moving out of the home the day before.

Officials with the Williamson County Sheriff's Department reports the house was fully involved-- with reports of flames 30 feet high.

The home suffered extensive damage.

Miller reports because the damage was so bad, it could take a while to identify a cause for the fire.

The state fire marshal has been called into investigate.

The Marion Fire Department was called in to help battle the blaze. 

The Carterville Fire Department helped to staff the Herrin Fire Department while they were on scene.
