IL man injured in semi-truck accident in Wayne Co.

WAYNE COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

An Illinois man was injured on Thursday after the semi-truck he was driving ran off the road and into a ditch in Wayne County.

According to the investigation, Lee Ray Shoemaker, 59, of Oakdale, Ill., was driving west in a semi-truck on I-64 near mile post 104 when, for unknown reasons, his truck left the roadway on the right side. 

The semi-truck then went through a fence before striking a ditch. 

The vehicle sustained damage to the front end and undercarriage.    

Shoemaker was taken to an area hospital for treatment of injuries sustained in the crash.

Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, Wayne County Ambulance and Wayne City Fire Department assisted at the scene.
