ST. FRANCOIS COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

A woman with special needs says someone stole her horse, which has been trained to help her.

Kristina Mendoza, of St. Francois County, uses leg braces to help her walk. She has nerve damage that makes moving and standing up difficult.

In an interview with KTVI out of St. Louis, Mendoza said she's able to get around thanks to her horse, Sabel.

She said Sabel was taken from the Farmington area sometime in the past weekend.
