Police in Marion, IL investigating hit and run accident involving minors

MARION, IL (KFVS) -

An 11-year old pedestrian was injured in a hit and run accident in the area of N. State St. and Patrick St. in Marion, Ill. around 7:15 a.m. on Wednesday. 

Officials say the driver of the vehicle, a 16-year old male, was later found in Johnston City and taken to the Marion Police Department, where he was cited for leaving the scene of an accident with personal injury.

The suspect was processed and released into the custody of his parents. 

The victim was taken to Heartland Regional Medical Center for further testing and observation for non-life threatening injuries.
