Police investigate shots fired northwest of Murray State campus

MURRAY, KY (KFVS) -

Police in Murray, Kentucky are investigating after shots were fired northwest of Murray State University's campus on Tuesday night, October 13.

The Murray City Police Department reports officers responded to a shots fired call around 8 p.m. in the northeast section of the city.

Investigators say a home was struck, but no one was injured.

The university tweeted that at about 9:30 p.m., unknown suspects fired a gun multiple times into a home. They say the incident did not happen on campus.

At this time, the university says the description of the suspects, the direction of travel and a vehicle description are unknown.

According to the university, the campus is open.
