Paducah woman accused of using medicine prescribed to her child

PADUCAH, KY (KFVS) -

A Paducah, Kentucky woman is accused of using medication prescribed to her child.

Amanda Leach, 28, was arrested on a warrant charging her with attempting to or obtaining a controlled substance by fraud, false statement or forgery.

According to Paducah police, they received information in mid-September that Leach had been getting prescriptions for Adderall for her minor child and using the medication herself.

Police say the child was in custody of his father for at least three months during which Leach got the prescriptions from an area physician's office.

When interviewed, Leach allegedly admitted that she had been using the prescriptions for her personal use.

The investigation was presented to a McCracken County grand jury, which indicted Leach on the charges.

She was arrested on Monday and booked into the McCracken County Regional Jail.
