Driver of school bus injured in crash near Charleston, MO

MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, MO (KFVS) -

One man is being treated for injuries sustained in a crash involving a school bus early on Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around on State Highway 62 west of Charleston in Mississippi County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Troopers say the school bus traveled off of the right side of the road and hit a guardrail, traveled off of the left side of the road and hit a concrete bridge banister and then ran off of the road and overturned.

The driver of the bus, identified as 53-year-old Daniel Meeks of Charleston, was ejected from the bus. He was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital with serious injuries.

There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.
