Man charged with murder in death of Caruthersville woman

KENNETT, MO (KFVS) -

Murder charges are pending against a Homestown, Mo. man after a Caruthersville woman was found dead in Kennett.

Crowin King, 36, of Homestown, was detained after police talked to several witnesses.

Captain Tim Trowbridge with the Kennett Police Department said the body of Carolletta K. Hamilton, 24, of Caruthersville was found at a home in the 900 block of Floyd Courts.

Family became worried about Hamilton after she was not seen for a few days. Police found Hamilton's body when officers checked the apartments.

Neighbors in Hamilton's apartment complex described her as being a very kind and quiet woman.

King was taken to the Dunklin County Jail.

He is facing first degree murder charges.
