Two people injured after crash in Williamson Co.

WILLIAMSON COUNTY, IL (KFVS) -

Two people were injured in a two-car crash in Williamson County on Saturday.

The Illinois State Police say both John Hunsell, 22, from Herrin, and Ronda J. Hutson, 62, of Sesser, were driving separate cars east on Herrin Road, 1,000 feet east from Christmas Tree Road at around 12:30 p.m.

Hutson slowed to make a left turn into a private drive.

Hunsell, who was behind her, apparently failed to reduce his speed, and struck their vehicle in the rear.

Both Hutson and her passenger, Terry Hutson, 68, also of Sesser, were taken to Herrin Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

Hunsell was charged with distracted driving and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
