Homecoming 2015 parade floats recall favorite board games

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

The Southeast Missouri State University’s annual Homecoming parade will feature more than 120 entries with this year’s floats recalling favorite board games.

The parade will take place Saturday, Oct. 17, beginning at 9:30 a.m. at Capaha Park and heading east on Broadway to Main Street.

The parade then turns south on Main Street, ending at Hutson’s Fine Furniture.

The overall Homecoming theme is “It’s Your Move.”

Candyland, Battleship, Guess Who, Clue, Chess, Life, Mouse Trap, Monopoly, Operation, Hi Ho Cherry-O, Sorry, Uno and Jumanji are among the themes the participating organizations have chosen.

In the parade, spectators can also expect to see a fire truck, a Missouri Department of Conservation Boat, and four marching bands from Delta High School, Shawnee Jr. and Sr. High School, Advance High School and Southeast’s Marching Band.

The parade will be broadcast live on KZIM (960 AM).

At the parade, Southeast will recognize Alumni Merit Award winners, Man and Woman of the Year Candidates and host a special guest as Parade marshal.
