Whodunit mystery involves theater-goers in Carbondale

CARBONDALE, IL (KFVS) -

Theater-goers can try their hand at amateur detective work and possibly get a reward for solving a murder-mystery.

The Unexpected Guest, is based on a novel written by  Agatha Christie, is The Stage Company's season-opener.

The performance is set to take place at The Varsity Center for the Arts in Carbondale starting October 16 with the last performance on October 25.

On the Friday and Saturday performances, the curtain raises at 7:30 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. on Sundays.

Tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for students.

Beginning October 10, tickets can be purchased at the Varsity Center for the Arts box office.

The Unexpected Guest is a mystery set at a manor in foggy countryside of Wales where a stranger discovers a murder scene with more questions than answers.

During intermission, theater-goers can try their hand at solving the mystery and have a chance to win a prize.
