This week in music: 1999

(KFVS) -

This morning we check the country music scene from 1999.

Billboard Magazine had George Strait at number five with "What Do You Say to That."

Steve Wariner was in the number four spot with a song head originally recorded back in 1978. "I'm Already Taken" fizzled on the charts back then. But Wariner re-recorded the song and it was a hit 21 years later.

The Dixie Chicks were at the peak of their popularity.  Their hit "Ready to Run" was at number three for the week. That song was featured in the Richard Gere/Julia Roberts movie "The Runaway Bride."

At number two was "I Love You" by Martina McBride. It was also featured in "The Runaway Bride" movie.

In the number one spot was Tim McGraw the "Something Like That." It spent five weeks in the top spot.
