Cardinals release postseason roster, Adams and Bourjos not on list

ST. LOUIS (KFVS) -

The roster has been set for the first ever meeting between the St. Louis Cardinals and the Chicago Cubs. 

To the delight of many of the Cardinal faithful, pitcher Adam Wainwright and catcher Yadier Molina have made the postseason roster. 

Notable players left off? Peter Bourjos and Matt Adams. 

The Cardinals head into the postseason with a lot of veterans on the position player roster as well as on the pitching roster.

Along with releasing the rosters, Matheny announced that Jaime Garcia gets the nod in Game Two and Michael Wacha and Lance Lynn get Games Three and Four. 

The Cardinals open the NLDS against the Chicago Cubs Friday, October 9 at Busch Stadium at 5:45 p.m. CT with John Lackey starting for St. Louis.
