First Alert: Warmer temperatures than usual across the Heartland - KFVS12 News & Weather Cape Girardeau, Carbondale, Poplar Bluff

First Alert: Warmer temperatures than usual across the Heartland today

It is Thursday, Oct. 8, 2015.

First Alert Weather Outlook:

Thursday is shaping up to be “not your typical October day”. Bryan McCormack’s First Alert Forecast shows you may see some patchy fog as the sun comes up, and much warmer temps than usual across the Heartland this afternoon. But looking ahead to your Football Friday, there may be some rain on the fields before kickoff.

Making Headlines:

Under fire: After four shootings connected to the Pink Pony in East Cape Girardeau, residents want a solution. At a special public meeting on Wednesday night, some residents called for the village board to penalize or suspend the Pink Pony's liquor license.

Happy ending: A Bollinger County woman is safe after disappearing for nearly 12 hours. Barbara Joan McCormick, 84, was located just after midnight in a wooded area behind her home.

Better safe than sorry: A threat scrawled on the wall of a Eastern Kentucky University bathroom has now caused enough concern to cancel classes for the rest of the week. School officials continue to insist they've found nothing to lead them to believe there's a specific threat to a specific building.

Search continues: A homicide investigation is under way in Cape Girardeau after a man was found dead with bullet wounds. Investigators are still searching for the person who allegedly shot and killed Howard Harris Smith, Jr.
