ST. LOUIS (KFVS) -

A high school senior with Heartland ties created a work of art with nearly 6,000 Rubik's Cubes.

Connor Wright twisted 5,980 Rubik’s Cubes in a mural of St. Louis Cardinal’s Hall of Famer Stan Musial.

Wright is a senior at St. Louis Priory School. Wright's father, Clinton Wright, grew up in Sikeston.

The mural will hang as a permanent fixture in Cardinals Nation, 601 Clark Ave.

Wright, President of the Cardinals William O. Dewitt III, Jean Edmonds, Stan Musial’s family and Fredbird participated in an unveiling of the mural Tuesday morning at Ballpark Village.

Wright says he hopes the mural will help preserve Musial's legacy.

Wright has a 4.5 GPA, got a 34 on his ACT and hopes the mural’s visibility will help him get into an Ivy League University.

A spokesperson for Rubik's Brand said the company is "very impressed" by Wright's cube solving skills.

He sold 23 hand-drawn portraits to get funding (with help from St. Louis Cardinals). He also executed the creation and business operations himself, according to the Cardinals organization.
