Notre Dame students receive money to go spread kindness

$6,000 in the hands of students sent out to do good.

You may be the recipient of some random acts of kindness soon.

Students at Notre Dame High School each received $10 Friday to go out and do something kind for someone else.

They already have some great ideas; whether it be pay for someone's meal or donate to a local shelter.

And school officials say they hope this giving spirit will reach beyond school walls.

"It's such a simple thing and hopefully it's going to teach our students and it'll trickle out into the community, that a little bit goes a long way if a lot of people are involved in doing that," said Director of Campus Ministry Sarah Strohmeyer. "And we hope they're going to be doing these things with great love. Which is a Mother Teresa thing that I love. Do small things with great love.

Students had no idea they were getting this money.

So now that the surprise is out they'll be spreading that money in different ways throughout the community.
