First Alert: Small chance of rain for Heartland Football Friday

Under Investigation: A mother, father and children found some remains while hiking on a trail at Trail of Tears State Park in mid-September. Anthropologists are investigating whether they belong to Native Americans.

Extremely dangerous: Hurricane Joaquin hammered islands in the central Bahamas with torrential rains that flooded homes. Forecasters warned that the "extremely dangerous" Category 4 storm could grow even stronger.

'Terrible Day': A 26-year-old walked into a class at a community college in a rural Oregon town and opened fire. At least nine people were killed, and one witness said the attacker demanded to know students' religion before shooting them.

Final Review: The U.S. Department of Justice is set to release the findings of its third review stemming from the unrest in Ferguson that followed the fatal shooting of 18-year-old Michael Brown.
