Are you "phubbing" up?

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

You may want to be a little more careful about using your cellphone in front of your significant other.

Turns out, our cellphones are damaging our romantic relationships, while also leading to higher levels of depression.

That's according to a study out of Baylor University.

They wanted to learn the effects of "partner phone snubbing," or "phubbing." That's how much someone uses or is distracted by their cellphone while in the company of their partner.

Researchers found that more than 45 percent of people reported being phubbed by their partner.

More than 20 percent of people said that phubbing caused problems in their relationships.

Nearly 37 percent said they felt depressed at least some of the time.

Only 32 percent of people said they were satisfied with their relationship.
