2.7M earthquake rattles southeast Missouri

CHARLESTON, MO (KFVS) -

A a 2.7-magnitude earthquake rumbled parts of southeast Missouri just after 8 p.m. on Tuesday.

The quake was reportedly centered six miles southwest of Charleston, Mo. and seven miles east of Sikeston.

Residents in East Prairie, Mo. report feeling the shake.

Preliminary reports by CERI at the University of Memphis measures the quake at 2.7 magnitude and 5.2 miles deep.
