MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash on Monday, Sept. 28 at 4 p.m.

According deputies with the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, they were dispatched to the intersection of Kentucky Dam Rd. and Eagles News Dr. for a report of a three-vehicle crash.

They say 46-year-old Jon Griggs, of Calvert City, Ky., was going west on Kentucky Dam Rd. in the left-hand lane in his 1997 Ford truck. Also going west, but in the right-hand lane, was 20-year-old Brent Stone, of Goodlettsville, Tenn., in his 2000 Honda passenger car.

For unknown reasons, deputies say Stone tried to change lanes abruptly. When he did, they say he hit the front of Griggs' truck, causing him to spin out of control and hit 54-year-old Donna Halkias, of Paducah, Ky., who was stopped in the westbound turn lane and preparing to turn into Eagles News Drive in her 1997 Ford truck.

Griggs' truck came to a rest in the center median of the road, Stone's car came to a rest in the westbound road ditch and Halkias was able to steer her truck to the eastbound roadside after temporarily being spun around.

Stone was taken to an area hospital for treatment of what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies say the road was reduced to two lanes of traffic for about 30 minutes for the investigation and clean up.
