ST. LOUIS (KFVS) -

A Ste. Genevieve girl continues to do amazing things for others despite being faced with a life-changing illness.

We first told you about Aly Bauman back in April when she was collecting art supplies to bring to kids at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital who might be going through treatment like her.

She began requiring blood transfusions at the age of two.

Her mom says the 10-year-old recently underwent surgery where she experienced major complications.

Forced to stay in the hospital, Aly created a couple paintings for the Art from the Heart Event benefiting Friends of Kids with Cancer.

Students, staff and family from Valle Catholic School collected nearly $4,000 to buy her paintings.

Her mom says the donation was the highest amount Aly has ever received for her work.

The paintings will be on display at Valle Catholic for years to come!
