MCCRACKEN COUNTY, KY (KFVS) -

A woman is facing charges after crashing her vehicle near the Reidland Ball Fields early Monday morning.

According to the McCracken County Sheriff's Department, deputies were dispatched to Said Road just before 6 a.m.

They found a 1992 GMC Sonoma in the ditch with its front end in a pond. However, they couldn't find the driver.

Deputies later located 52-year-old Michelle Denniston walking away from the accident. She suffered non-life threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital.

Investigations showed Denniston was traveling along Said Road form Reidland to Symsonia, when she ran of the left side of the road, traveled along the side of the road before entering a tree line. Her car eventually stopped at the edge of a pond.

Deputies say alcohol was a contributing factor in the crash. Denniston was charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
