PARMA, MO (KFVS) -

One person faces several charges after a shooting Saturday afternoon in New Madrid County.

Michael Tyrone Johnson, 21, is charged with first degree assault, two counts of armed criminal action, and discharge/shooting a firearm from a motor vehicle.

Investigators interviewed two other people in connection to the shooting. However, they were released.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens said the shooting occurred on South Broad Street in Parma, between a community building and Main Street Saturday afternoon.

The community center had been rented for a dinner following a funeral.

Stevens also said there had been issues at a related visitation Friday evening in Portageville, which prompted the funeral director to request police presence at the funeral on Saturday.

Shots were fired during the dinner, with no reported issues during the funeral.

Officials say no one was reported injured.

Johnson's bond has been set at $50,000 cash only.
