Cardinals manager Mike Matheny to speak in Cape Girardeau

CAPE GIRARDEAU, MO (KFVS) -

Cardinals manager Mike Matheny will be speaking at the Cape Girardeau River Campus on Wednesday, December 2, 2015.

The event, presented by First Missouri State Bank, is being called, "The State of Cardinals Nation with Mike Matheny."

It will feature a keynote address with Matheny, and a question and answer session with the audience.

A VIP reception will begin at 6 p.m., and the talk and question and answer session will follow at 7:00 p.m.

Matheny is expected to speak about the Cardinals, his faith, character building and youth sports.

A portion of all ticket sales will go to the event’s charity beneficiary, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri.

Those interested are encouraged to get their tickets early, because a sellout is anticipated.

Organizers are planning an online auction, plus a raffle for special prizes will take place at the event.

All auction and raffle proceeds will go to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Eastern Missouri.

A ticket is required to attend this event.

General admission tickets are $20, and limited VIP tickets are available for $100.

The VIP reception includes heavy hors d’oeurves, an open bar, and a signed copy of Matheny’s bestseller, The Matheny Manifesto: A Young Manager’s Old-School Views on Success in Sports and Life.

Tickets will go on sale on October 14 at semissourian.com/Matheny, by phone at (573) 388-2761, or at the Southeast Missourian offices located at 301 Broadway in Cape Girardeau.
